Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy covers the mobile app Taiwan Moto License Test (in Chinese: 機車駕照題庫) and the website mototest.app. Both are published by App Theories. The app is free and is supported by ads.
In short: the app has no accounts and keeps your study progress on your phone. It shows ads and uses Google services to understand how the app is used and to fix errors. The website sets no cookies.
The app: your information
The app has no accounts and asks for no name, email address or phone number.
Your study progress and settings are saved on your device. Some of this information can remain on your device or in your phone's backup after you delete the app, and can come back when you install it again.
The app: services of other companies
The app uses the following services. They collect data themselves, under their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob shows the ads. It may collect your device's advertising identifier, your IP address, information about your device and how you interact with ads; depending on your settings and region, ads may be personalised. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Remote Config) helps us understand how the app is used, fix errors and adjust the app without an update. It receives information about your use of the app, technical information about the app and your device, your IP address and identifiers of the app installation (on Android also the advertising identifier), but not your name. We use it as totals to improve the app, not to identify you. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Privacy and Security in Firebase.
- The App Store and Google Play deliver the app and its updates.
- Content updates are downloaded from our server, which a hosting provider runs for us; it receives your device's IP address.
Older versions of the app may also load fonts from Google, which receives your IP address.
Links shared from the app and its links to the app stores can carry a label so that we can count downloads. The label contains nothing about you.
Your choices in the app
- You can reset your advertising identifier and turn off personalised ads in your phone's settings.
- In the app's settings you can turn off usage statistics and delete your study progress.
- You can stop all collection by deleting the app.
This website
The website has no accounts and no forms, and it sets no cookies.
- It keeps only anonymous daily totals of page views and link clicks, and nothing about a visitor.
- It is delivered through a hosting provider, which processes your IP address and request data to deliver and protect the site, and measures page loads without cookies.
- The practice test runs in your browser; your answers are not sent anywhere.
- Your browser may remember on your device that you dismissed a language suggestion.
- Store buttons and shared links can carry a label saying where the link came from, so that we can count downloads. The label contains nothing about you.
Children
The app and the website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
